چکیده
Locally advanced disease Patients with locally advanced breast cancer do not have distant metastatic disease and are in this group based on tumor size and/or nodal status. Such patients often present with a large breast mass or axillary nodal disease, which is easily palpable on physical examination. In some instances, the breast is diffusely infiltrated with disease, and no dominant mass is evident.

The status of antioxidants, malondialdehyde and some trace elements in serum of patients with breast cancer
Background: There are studies that indicated dyshomeostasis of oxidant/antioxidant and trace elements in breast cancer patients, but the data regarding the status of these parameters in various stages of breast cancer are limited. The aim of this study was to highlight the status of these biochemical factors in various stages of breast cancer. Methods: Fifty-eight breast cancers patients par...
متن کاملMale Breast Cancer; A Review of Risk Factors and Clinical and Radiological Features
While male breast cancer (MBC) consists only 1% of all breast cancers in the United States, approximately 2000 men are diagnosed annually and the incidence seems to be slowly increasing. About 50% of men have axillary nodal metastasis at the time of diagnosis. A mean delay of 6 to 10 months occurs in the diagnosis of MBC, which leads to the progression of the disease before presentation. More t...

متن کاملOxidative stress in relation to lipid profiles in different stages of breast cancer.
The changes in the levels of MDA, nitrite, vit. E, lipids (total cholesterol and triglycerides) and lipoproteins (HDL and LDL cholesterol) were estimated among breast cancer patients, in relation to different clinical stages (stage I to IV). MDA and nitrite levels were increased in breast cancer patients, irrespective of clinical stage, as compared to controls (p < 0.01). Their levels were also...
متن کاملInvestigating FGF11 gene transcription level in cancer cells among colorectal cancer patients
Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the fourth leading cause of cancer-caused death around the world. Reports of the unnecessary transcription of family genes of the fibroblast growth factor in several types of cancer indicate the role of these factors in tumorgenesis and progression of cancer. Therefore, the level of FGF11 transcription was evaluated in colorectal cancer tumor tissues relat...
متن کاملComparison of Treatment Costs for Breast Cancer, by Tumor Stage and Type of Service.
BACKGROUND Diagnosis of breast cancer at early stages is associated with better clinical and survival outcomes. How the costs of care vary depending on the stage at which breast cancer was diagnosed has not been thoroughly examined. OBJECTIVE To quantify the stage-dependent average per capita cost of breast cancer treatment for a commercially insured population of women with newly diagnosed b...
